With satellite TV there is already an infrastructure in place to support high definition TV, or HDTV, and user needs only upgrade their dish and receiver. This means that satellite providers can offer the HD service at a lower cost than cable TVs.
Also, the consumer will generally find a greater variety of programming options with satellite TV for movies, sports entertainment, local channels, and pay per view than with basic cable or digital cable. In addition to more options, the cost will be lower with satellite TV than with a similar cable package in almost every case. Up front costs are reasonable or in some cases waived, and the per-television set costs are generally lower as well. For the movie buff looking for the greatest movie entertainment options, satellite TV tends to be the better choice.
However, if you are interested in serious channels in the light of news watch societal affairs, cable TV are a better option. Cable TVs are also relatively low when it comes to installation. And when you negotiate very well with your provider, you may get some freebies as well.
